Keep in mind that a lot of people who already own a 3DS will be deprived of the experience of playing the JRPG in the West. In some ways, you could say that the Switch version compensates for the lack of the Nintendo 3DS version, but it's still not the same thing. While the PS4 and PC versions are due out this September in the West, another version will also be absent: the Nintendo 3DS. The woes for Dragon Quest XI don't end with delays for the Switch release, though. However, the game ended up getting delayed for the Switch. This also happened to Airship Syndicate's Battle Chasers: Nightwar, which was also supposed to be released for the Nintendo Switch back in October along with the Xbox One, PS4 and PC release.
